Roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty during our new fun and friendly Pottery Throwing Experience. Perfect for all abilities, this experience provides an introduction to pottery throwing, while you create your own pot to be proud of. Using Denby clay and under the guidance of Sean, our Craft Potter you will learn various techniques to create your own piece on the potter’s wheel. You are very welcome to bring a friend along to the experience, to take photos and give encouragement. Or why not book an experience for two people, where you can use our two potter's wheels at the same time.

The Pottery Throwing Experience takes place upstairs in the Denby Craftroom and includes a 45-minute throwing class with Sean, our Craft Potter. (Max number of 'participating throwers' is two per class. If you book a space for one person, please note that the second space may be filled by another participant). Left in the skilled hands of Sean, your hand-thrown pot will be fired and finished in your chosen Denby glaze colour (Black Gloss, White or Imperial Blue) ready to collect within 2-3 weeks.

A complimentary cream tea in Bourne’s Kitchen is included for you to enjoy on the day.

PRICE: £35.00 per person, places confirmed with full payment

LOCATION: Denby Pottery Village – Upstairs in the Denby Craftroom.

Upon arrival, please report to the Tours desk in the Craft Studio and show your ticket on your phone or printed copy. A member of the Pottery Village team will collect and escort you upstairs to the Craftroom.

To make the most of your experience, please arrive in advance of the confirmed time and ensure that any additional visitors coming to watch your class have been confirmed at booking stage.

• Any sleeves longer than the elbow must be rolled back leaving the forearms bare.

• All jewellery is to be removed from the hands and wrists with the exception of a wedding band. If a wedding band is kept on then disposable Nitrile gloves will be available to wear.

• Any jewellery, neckties or scarves worn around the neck must be removed.

• Hair may have to be tied back if there is a risk of entanglement.

• Short nails are preferred as longer nails make the throwing process more difficult.

Please note that on occasion, some pots may crack or break in the kiln firing process and this is beyond our control. In the unfortunate event that this should happen we will contact you and advise of the options available.

Denby Pottery Village will make every effort to ensure that your Pottery Throwing Experience goes ahead on the confirmed date and time. However, should extreme weather, or other unforeseen conditions prevail, an alternative date or time will be offered or a full refund given. If you wish to amend your booking, you must do so at least 14 days before the confirmed date, this is subject to availability.

Unfortunately, refunds cannot be given for cancellations.

CONTACTS: If you have any questions or mobility issues that you would like to discuss, please call or email our Tours Desk on tours.reception@denby.co.uk or 01773 740799 and our team will be able to help advise.
